Season 16 of ESL Pro League begins in Sweden this week with the Conference — a chance for the challengers and future stars of the globe to prove their worth and qualify for the all-important EPL Group Stage.

Sixteen teams converge on Sweden this week in an effort to qualify to the big show — the ESL Pro League group stage — where a shot at playoffs and a monstrous $835,000 USD prize pool awaits.

There are many questions to be asked of this playing group ahead of the Conference.

How will Outsiders perform following the departure of frontman YEKINDAR and the addition of n0rb3r7 and fame? Is French Counter-Strike’s future primed and ready for ascension via HEET and Falcons? How will Kjaerbye perform in his long-awaited return to CS:GO with Endpoint?

The same can be said for our record three Oceanic representatives.

Is a change of scenery the way forward for Sico and regional frontrunners Order?

Can Encore, now with a second overseas bootcamp and multiple international appearances, piece together a qualification spot at EPL?

Is there a chance for Vertex, who enter Conference with zero expectations and completely under the radar, to nab an upset win or two?

Sixteen teams will be whittled down to six via a full double-elimination bracket.

It’s simple: win two matches, and they’re through to the Group Stage, and a shot at the lion’s share of over $800,000 USD. Lose two, and they’re going home. All matches are best-of-three.
