Ethereum apps go down as Infura suffered an outage and the services were largely impacted this morning because of the infrastructure problem so let’s read more today in our latest ethereum news.

The decentralized apps and services are heavily impacted this morning because of an outage on Infura. The issues with Infura are affecting most of the Ethereum apps and services on the network. MetaMask and other apps across ETH and scaling solutions as also impacted. Ethereum is not down but the users of MetaMask and other dapps surely seem like it. That’s because the infrastrcuture service Infura suffered an outage which impacted an array of apps and services on ETH.

The problems started popping up as users reported issues accessing the ETH Applications like Metamask which counts more than 30 million monthly users. According to the update on the Infura status page, the infrastructure provider saw some issues with most of the APIs which connect apps and services to the Ethereum blockchain. The affected APIs included the ones for Ethereum as well as scaling solutions like Optimism, Polygon, and Arbitrum as well as Filecoin and Palm. Infura said that it was working on deploying a solution:

“We are in the process of rolling out a fix and our core systems are starting to recover. Full-service functionality will be reestablished as remaining components come back online.”

When asked for comments on additional information on the issues, the Infura representative said:

“Unfortunately we don’t have any more details to share at this point since our engineers are hard at work on a fix.”

The project creators shared the news and included the Ethereum NT collection The Sevens which said that its current NFT mint was disabled because of Infura issues. While Ethereum is the leading platform for DApps, NFT trading and DEFI ecosystems will rely on some common infrastrcuture. This is why when a service like Infura goes down, it impacts the popular Ethereum apps and services. Infura even encountered a major outage in 2020 when described the postmortem with the severe services interruption four years into operation.

MetaMask Warned Apple Users, icloud, MetaMask Institutional, gnosis, safe, custody, wallet

Consensys-owned crypto wallet provider MetaMask warned Apple users over iCloud phishing attacks and the security issue for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users are related to the default device settings which sees a user’s seed phrase of the password-encrypted wallet vault stored on the iCloud if the user enabled automatic backups for the app data.
