The 2023-24 NFL season has been outstanding so far. Already there have been a ton of breakout players and fantasy duds that have made the game so entertaining. It is officially the last week of the regular season. It is vital for fantasy managers this week to pay attention to the standings to see if their stars will play the entirety of their games or at all. During the playoffs Fantasy Managers will have full utilization of their roster and need to make sure they have backup options on their roster in case their stars get hurt. Plenty of injuries this season to crucial players make the pool of players to choose from on waivers that much thinner. It’s always a great idea to evaluate backup options so that way fantasy managers are prepared if star players miss time. Here are the fantasy football week 18 quarterback rankings.

[Ratings are subject to change due to injury reports or possible move to Injured Reserve List]

[Check out the section below for details on players already rumored to possibly miss this week and how their replacement options rank for the week]

Key:

Must Start- a player who should definitely be in your lineup that week because of the combination of matchup and talent. They will likely finish near the top of the league in points that week and could repeat the production most weeks.

Starter- a player who makes fantasy owners comfortable starting week after week. Regardless of the matchup, this player has a high floor.

Low-End Starter- a player who should be started in most lineups but can possibly bottom out and finish below average on a given week. A high ceiling play in two-quarterback or superflex leagues.

Streamer- a player who could be a perfect replacement for a starter for a week or two. Starting this player may not win you your lineup but they will make sure that your production out of that position will not lose you your matchup either. Also a viable option in two-quarterback or superflex leagues.

Deep League Streamer- a player who could fill a void at a position in a deeper league. Their ceiling may be close to average point production at the position but their floor is enough to get through the week. A reasonable player to have in your lineup in two-quarterback or superflex leagues.

Leave on the Bench- a player who should be avoided in all lineups that week. Many times this player could even be left on waivers.

Players that are could miss this week’s game

QB1 Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen suffered a stinger in his neck in last week’s game against the New England Patriots. It seems unlikely given the magnitude of this week’s game that Allen will miss this week’s game. If Allen misses Week 18 against the Miami Dolphins Kyle Allen becomes the QB30 between Mason Rudolph and Bailey Zappe.

QB8 Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Baker Mayfield is currently dealing with a rib injury. This is an injury he has been dealing with for a few weeks. If Mayfield misses Week 18 against the Carolina Panthers Kyle Trask becomes the QB31 between Bailey Zappe and Trevor Siemian.

QB10 Trevor Lawerence, Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence missed last week’s game against the Carolina Panthers with an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder. He suffered the injury two weeks ago against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If Lawerence misses Week 18 against the Tennessee Titans C.J. Beathard becomes QB25 between Jake Browning and Jarrett Sidham.

QB11 Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa suffered a shoulder injury last week against the Baltimore Ravens. He is expected to play in this week’s game. If Tagovailoa misses Week 18 against the Buffalo Bills Mike White becomes the QB24 between Carson Wentz and Jake Browning.

QB17 Taylor Heinicke, Atlanta Falcons

Taylor Heinicke suffered an ankle injury last week against the Chicago Bears. He is expected to play in this week’s game. If Heinicke misses Week 18 against the New Orleans Saints Desmond Ridder becomes the QB18 between Tyrod Taylor and Easton Stick.

QB20 Will Levis, Tennessee Titans

Will Levis suffered a foot injury last week against the Houston Texans. It is unclear if Levis will be ready to play this week. If Levis misses Week 18 against the Jacksonville Jaguars Ryan Tannehill becomes the QB22 between Bryce Young and Sam Darnold.

Players that are currently not expected to play

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes is not expected to play this week. The Kansas City Chiefs are locked into the three seed in the AFC so there is no reason for them to put out their starters. Kansas City will start Blaine Gabbert at quarterback this week.

Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson is not expected to play this week. The Baltimore Ravens have locked up the one seed in the AFC so there is no reason for them to put out their starters. Baltimore will start Tyler Huntley at quarterback this week.

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

Brock Purdy is not expected to play this week. The San Francisco 49ers have locked up the one seed in the NFC so there is no reason for them to put out their starters. San Francisco will start Sam Darnold at quarterback this week.

Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford is not expected to play this week. The Los Angeles Rams have already clinched a playoff spot so there is no reason for them to put out their starters in the last game of the season. Los Angeles will start Carson Wentz at quarterback this week.

Joe Flacco, Cleveland Browns

Joe Flacco is not expected to play this week. The Cleveland Browns locked up the top wildcard spot in the AFC so there is no reason for them to put out their starters. Cleveland will start Jeff Driskel at quarterback this week.

Jacoby Brissett, Washington Commanders

Jacoby Brissett will not be able to play in this week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys because of a hamstring injury. He missed last week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers because of the injury. Sam Howell will start for Washington this week. Howell will finish the season starting every single game for Washington this year despite the team attempting to bench him two weeks ago prior to Brisset’s injury.
