Ferrari Is Interested In Blockchain And NFTs, CEO Admits

Ferrari is interested in blockchain technology and NFTs as well according to the latest statements from the CEO Benedetto Vigna as we can see further in today’s latest blockchain news.

Digital technologies like blockchain, Web3, and NFTs are the main interest for Ferrari as per CEO Benedetto Vigna who said that these industries are niches that deserve attention and as such, the executive hinted that the sports car manufacturer could continue with its crypto endeavors in the future. While outlining the Q4 2021 results in a recent earnings call, the Ferrari CEO said the company will focus on the Web3 universe in the future:

“We strengthen our relationship with leading-edge technological partners such as Amazon Web Services in Wales to be at the forefront of digital technologies and Web 3.0.”

The executive added that blockchain technology, NFT, and Web3 are interesting for Ferrari and could help the brand’s development but can also enhance the position as a leading company in the field:

“I think that as we said, it’s important that we look and we see how the new technologies can help our brand. For sure, the digital technologies, the web 3.0 technologies that they’re using the Blockchain and the NFT is an area that can be interesting for us, it deserves some attention.”

The CEO acknowledged that the crypto industry has been evolving quite rapidly and he also outlined that some of the Ferrari rivals have already ented into the digital asset space which means that the company should do the same and catch up with the competition. The Italian sports car manufacturer took its first steps into the crypto space in 2021 and back then it partnered with the Swiss technology company Velas Network AG to create nonfungible tokens for the fans. The digital collectibles will be available for buying from March 2022 once the new season of Formula starts.

Mattia Binotto who is the General Manager and Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari said that Velas is an entity that makes innovation and performance the “hallmark of technologically advanced products and services.” The CEO of the Swiss ORganization Farhan Shagulaymaov said that teaming up with Ferrari is a natural move because the Italian brand is also the  “icon of excellence.”
