How to Photograph Mew – Courses

Mew appears at the very beginning of the Founja Jungle (Night) course in New Pokemon Snap after completing the story. As soon as the course starts, look behind you and use the Melody player. A pink ball will appear. Throw Fluffruit at it to make Mew appear. The pink orb will come in and out of view, allowing for three opportunities to bop Mew out of its pink orb throughout the Founja Jungle (Night) course – which you must do to ensure Diamond-rated 1, 3, and 4-Star photos of Mew in New Pokemon Snap.

Three Opportunities to Bop Mew

  1. Do a 180 by pressing down on the D-Pad immediately after starting the Founja Jungle (Night) course. Play Melody to make Mew appear, and hit it with a Fluffruit.
  2. Mew will appear again just after passing the sleeping Liepard on the right of the path.
  3. You’ll see Mew again regardless if you take the Swamp path or not, but the swamp path (activated by scanning), makes it easier to hit Mew. Look to the right beyond Swampert to see as it approaches.

Great one, three, and four-star photos can all be taken of Mew by following the instructions for the 4-Star photo and taking burst shots.

One Star Mew Photo

There are two opportunities to get a 1-Star mew pose. Bop Mew three times as described above, then play Melody at the Ancient Ruins, where it will then appear, though quite far away.

Alternatively, follow the instructions for the 4-Star photo of Mew: After doing the above, look by the Liepard on the cliff. It will perform its 4-Star behavior, “Noteworthy Behavior,” but then will begin to float away – that’s your perfect 1-Star photo of Mew.

Two Star Mew Photo

Take a photo right after you hit Mew with a Fluffruit to get its Two-star behavior.

Three Star Mew Photo

A Mew with “Happy Vibes” is considered a 3-Star photo. Bop Mew three times as described above, then play Melody at the Ancient Ruins.

Mew will then appear again, up close, in front of the Liepard that blocks the waterfall on the cliff. Photograph it, and wait until it sports the pose above, after floating around a bit and performing its 4-Star photo.

How to Capture the Four Star Mew Photo

Bop Mew three times as described above, then play Melody at the Ancient Ruins.

Mew will then appear again, up close, in front of the Liepard that blocks the waterfall on the cliff. Photograph it as it curiously looks at you, like in the screenshot above.
