And since this is a farming game with the addition of open-world elements, then of course crafting elements and creating new buildings is going to be part of the job. Once you get your Mech up and running and start building your home, you will be tasked with creating your first resource manufacture constructs. However, some of these constructs – Fodder Oven and Assembler, for example – will require a resource you can’t find in the wild: Plant Oil. No, we won’t be cooking this time. To get Plant Oil, you will need to build the Oil Presser, one of the starting constructs. This won’t be as obvious as other instructions since the game doesn’t mention how to do this.

To build the Oil Presser you will need 6x Wood and 3x Stone. You can find these resources pretty much everywhere in the world. Equip your Spike Saw, hit the trees and rock formations you come across, and collect your bounty. Both of these sources will provide abundant resources – in general, there are plenty of resource drops in Ligthyear Frontier – so this shouldn’t take long. Once you do, select it from your Constructs Wheel menu and select an appropriate place in the ground – you can later demolish it and move it to another place without a penalty. Then, interact with the blueprint to transfer the resources and finish crafting the Oil Presser.

Finally, interacts with the Oil Presser to provide Plant Fiber in exchange for Plant Oil. You can collect Plant Fiber from trees and bushes around the world, and you will need five of these to craft a single bottle of Plant Oil. Processing the Plant Fiber will take 15 seconds, with other Oil types taking longer. Initially, you can only have five Oil types queued at a time, so make sure to focus your attention on other activities with your friends while the different Plant materials are processed by the Oil Presser.
