IndiGo

IndiGo, India’s number one low-cost airline is gearing up to compete with the other airlines. Especially in the wake of Tata Group acquiring Air India (AI), IndiGo has become cautious of the competition that’s going to rise furiously. With time, another ultra-low-cost airline backed by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Akasa, will make its entry into the market.

To keep competing furiously with these airlines, IndiGo is working on upgrading its aircraft. The low-cost airline is reportedly increasing legroom for passengers on some of its single-aisle Airbus A320neo family aircraft. Further, as per a TOI report, passengers might be served real hot cooked food instead of noodles or Upma boiled in water.

IndiGo’s CEO, Ronojoy Dutta, in a conversation with TOI said that the airline is planning to add ovens in its planes soon. The airline is not looking to get a wide-body aircraft anytime soon, even though it flies six out of every ten domestic customers in India.

With Tata backing Air India, things in the airline Industry will heat up pretty fast.
