Join Us at AFECon 2021
We are excited to participate in the inaugural Antiracism for Educators – The Conference (AFECon 2021). This year’s theme is Connecting the Pieces. The virtual conference will be held on August 6-7, 2021 and will offer more than 20 synchronous and asynchronous professional development sessions. All sessions are aimed at helping educators use antiracist and anti-bias theory to inform solutions to the most pressing problems they face in their schools and classrooms.
Malika Ali from our leadership team will present the session Centering on Instructional Equity: An Overview of the CRSP Framework. We believe that the most successful planning efforts for SY 21-22 will intentionally integrate principles of social emotional learning with the development of cognitive skills that support the growth of student achievement and self-directed learning. Participants will explore the domains and key practices of Highlander Institute’s Culturally Responsive & Sustaining Pedagogy Framework and will leave with a series of strategies and measurement tools to center fall planning efforts at the classroom and school levels.
