The 2024 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Kris Abrams-Draine 2024 NFL Draft Profile.

Kris Abrams-Draine Background

Position: Cornerback

School: Missouri

Size: 5-foot-11, 179 pounds

Class: Senior

2023 stats: 51 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 4 interceptions, 13 passes defended, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery

Abrams-Draine moved positions during his college career, but settled in well at corner. Now he is in the 2024 NFL Draft.

As a three-star recruit in the class of 2020, Abrams-Draine signed with Missouri as a wide receiver out of Alabama. He played in five games as a wide receiver in his first season on campus before moving to corner for his second season. In 2021, he started 10 games at corner with 37 tackles, three interceptions and seven passes defended. He helped the Tigers win six games that season. In 2022, Abrams-Draine totaled 48 tackles and 14 passes defended. He was a key component on a team that won six games again. For the 2023 season, he tallied 51 tackles, four interceptions and 13 passes defended. He led the team to a great 11-win season.

Following a formidable 2023 season, Abrams-Draine declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a day-two pick.

Kris Abrams-Draine Strengths

Abrams-Draine has great athleticism for the position. He ran a 4.44 40-yard dash during the NFL Combine and that speed shows up on tape. Abrams-Draine can run with receivers downfield, matching their stride. He also has good quickness and agility for nice short area burst.

He showed he could play outside corner in college. From that spot, he showed solid man coverage, with the ability to mirror solid route runners. He also showed the ability to play zone coverage with good eye balance. In addition to playing outside, Abrams-Draine could be utilized in the slot.

His time as a wide receiver shows up on tape, as he has phenomenal ball skills. He tracks the ball well in the air and then can attack the catch point. Abrams-Draine is able to come away with a pass defended or interception on plays where he is in the area often.

Kris Abrams-Draine Weaknesses

His size could be a problem at the NFL level. He stands at 5-foot-11 and 179 pounds, which is below what NFL teams want for an outside cornerback. While he can play both outside and inside, this might move him to the slot. He also has just 31-inch arms, which can make it tougher for him in a few areas.

Abrams-Draine can struggle matching up with size at the next level. Wide receivers with large catch radii can win 50/50 balls over him. He still does solidly against them in coverage, but quarterbacks can throw jump balls up to them and they can win over Abrams-Draine.

He tends to open his hips up too early, which sets him up to be beaten in coverage. When he opens up his hips early, wide receivers can notice that and get open on him. He needs to stay patient and trust his technique.

Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
