SandboxAQ aligns with Carahsoft to strengthen government market reach – Inside Quantum Technology

SandboxAQ, already a winner of multiple government contracts for post-quantum cybersecurity offerings, is strengthening its reach into the government and public sector to an even greater degree with a new partnership with Carahsoft Technology Corp., a government and public sector IT solutions provider based in Reston, Virginia.

Carahsoft will provide the SandboxAQ Security Suite cryptography management platform and other AI and quantum technology (AQ) solutions throughout the public sector through its existing contracts and network of resellers, integrators, and consultants, according to a blog post from Jen Sovada, President of SandboxAQ’s Global Public Sector unit. 

SandboxAQ’s Security Suite will be available through Carahsoft’s NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) V contracts; Information Technology Enterprise Solutions – Software 2 (ITES-SW2) Contract; National Cooperative Purchasing Alliance (NCPA) contract; and National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) ValuePoint Cloud Solutions Contract.

In addition to the Security Suite, Carahsoft will also provide SandboxAQ’s Simulation & Optimization solutions, which can be used to discover and develop advanced new materials, such as more effective EV batteries or lighter, stronger metal alloys. Also included in the arrangement is support for SandboxAQ’s quantum sensing solutions, already being tested by the U.S. Air Force, among others 

SandboxAQ and Carahsoft will co-market these solutions via joint webinars, white papers, and events. They will establish government training and up-skilling courses on AI, quantum, and all SandboxAQ solutions.

The pairing comes at the beginning of what is expected to be a busy year in quantum-safe security. The National Institute of Standards and Technology will finalize its first post-quantum cryptography (PQC) standards later this year. The Biden Administration has pushed harder for government agencies and critical infrastructure operators to prepare for potential quantum-based security threats.

Amid this environment, SandboxAQ already has earned deals with the Air Force, the Defense Information Systems Agency, and the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services.
