Only in Australia does a property come to market complete with 11 pet crocodiles and a whole bunch of other free-ranging murder logs in the creek.

So would you snap this one up?

Located at Eva Valley in the Northern Territory (is anyone surprised?), the 32.37 hectare property was listed by its owners for $650,000.

Just 9km from Batchelor – the Gateway to Litchfield National Park – the property has a large, open-air dwelling that consists of a kitchen with fridge, bathroom, large airconditioned bedroom and an airconditioned caravan.

“The dwelling is not coded however (as) the location falls outside of building code regulations,” according to the listing.

The dwelling

Situated on a permanent spring-fed creek, the property also boasts 700 organic mango trees, rainforest and paperback-palm forest.

The furniture, machinery, quad bike, mowers, tools and other items are included in the sale, which is on a walk-in, walkout basis.

The owner we presume???

“The property is being sold with eight pet saltwater crocodiles and three freshwater crocodiles, (all under permit) so would suit someone with a good knowledge of and a genuine passion for these animals,” the listing says.

“Freshwater and saltwater crocodiles also live naturally in the spring along with 20 species of fish including Barramundi, turtles and reptiles.”

Ah, yeh. There are no photographs of these “pets” so it is anyone’s guess whether we are talking hatchling or heart-stopper.

Wallabies are also “abundant” on the property, as are a host of bird species.

Mangoes and skippys

It is being marketed as a “unique opportunity for a conservation-minded family”.

“This is a private sale only to the right buyer,” the listing says.

North Queensland man John Casey has a 3m pet saltie called Charlene, one of the very few crocodiles exempt from state laws that forbid ownership of protected species.

Charlene has lived with the Case family for almost 60 years.

In 2012, Mr Casey put Charlene is his own will.
