Tencent has released the first teaser for PUBG Mobile version 1.6, which is set to premiere later this month. The update will bring a fresh new look for the game with an even more realistic map than before. The teaser also shows off some of PUBG’s new features, including the ability to commandeer vehicles, customizable character accessories, and player-vs-player mode. It’s set to be out on PC through Epic Games’ launcher on March 6th, but it’ll take longer for Sony’s consoles to get access.
The latest version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has quickly become one of the most popular games in the world. The game pits 100 players against each other in online multiplayer action where you can fight to survive or team up cooperatively in pacts against other squads. One of the most popular game modes is “First Person Perspective.”

Tencent has previously announced it will commit $10 million to global esports competitions this year, and it now includes PUBG Mobile as part of the tournament. The company has also confirmed that it is developing a new battle royale game called Dying Light: Bad Blood. It’s set to be released on PC, PS4, and Xbox One later this year.
PUBG Mobile has been a roaring success since launching in December 2017. The game takes the “battle royale” formula from PUBG and simplifies it to be a phone-based experience, but still engages the same core elements of fantasy violence and competition. The game has reached 100 million total downloads across all platforms, and it’s surpassed 1 billion aggregate mobile play sessions as well. The version 1.6 update will mark major changes for the mobile edition.
PUBG Mobile version 1.6 releases worldwide on March 6th, 2018 via Epic Games’ launcher (PC only). The new version will also be available through the Tencent QQ app. Tencent says it will commit $10 million to global esports competitions this year, and PUBG Mobile will be a part of those events as well.
