Tiger King Star Carole Baskin Launches CAT Coin: Report

Tiger king star Carole Baskin has just launched CAT via an Ethereum-based open network Rally and offered exclusive rewards for the coin holders as we can see in our latest Altcoin news today.

Dogecoin’s status as the main memecoin could be under threat after the news that the Tiger King star Carole Baskin launched her CAT coin. In a blog post via a non-profit Big Cat Rescue she revealed that her token was launched on Rally, which is an open network that enables creators to launch their own coins on the ETH blockchain but noted that the coin isn’t an investment tool but a merely a pun:

“Our new $CAT coin is not a currency for investment, but rather is a purr-ency of our fans to show their love for the cats and to reap the benefits of being our most forward-thinking partners in creating a world where all wild cats live free.”

Baskin’s interest in crypto seems to have a basis to it with the TV star explaining that she had concerns about the money printing fueled inflation and said:

 “I like the idea of putting the power of money in the hands of the people, rather than banks and governments.”

Despite her bullishness, Baskin seems to have misunderstood the attributes of BTC versus other altcoins and noted:

 “At this point, both the USD and Bitcoin are fiat currencies, but at least Bitcoin and other altcoins have scarcity built in and now there is much more broad adoption of them in our everyday lives.”

Baskin’s CAT has 123,600 coins in circulation and it is sitting at a price of $8.20 per coin. Since the launch, CAT saw 492 transactions with a volume of $206,000. Holders of CAT will be eligible for rewards like elite access to Live walkabouts and conversations with Baskin and her crew, discounts, and fiat access to the new activities and merch. Baskin teased future plans for the CAT community including a big cat metaverse world dubbed ARzoo, a virtual game called Big Cat Rescue, and a new set of cat-centric NFTs.

This is not Baskin’s first move in crypto because she started in April last year to accept donations in BTC, BCH, and ETH via BitPay.
