Cannabis infused coffee has been on the market for some time, but now consumers can brew it in their Keurigs. Fairwinds, based in Vancouver, Washington, makes Catapult Infused Coffee pods.  Sold all over Washington, the cannabis K-Cups Pods have been all the rage recently. Weed and coffee go great together and Fairwinds saw an opening in the market and turned it into a successful product line.

Catapult pods work with standard, single serve coffee makers, and contain 10 mg of THC per serving, or cup. Don’t have a coffee maker? The premium grounds taste just as good and have the same effect if you “pop” the top off and brew it in your French press.

The coffee’s maker describes the blend as “a premium series of cannabis-infused coffee beans that feature local Northwest coffee roasters whom supply premium, freshly roasted coffee beans from coffee regions throughout the world.”

Users have reported that the coffee pods have a great balance. The coffee gave them more energy, of course, but they still felt the same level of relaxation that comes with low doses of cannabis.  The company’s cannabis-fueled brew has the potential to make that Monday morning commute a lot more enjoyable.

edd Wetherbee owns The Gallery marijuana shop in Tacoma, Washington and told The Cannabist that the Catapult pods have been a big hit since deciding to carry them in his store.  “People enjoy the novelty of it.  As this market grows, people are looking for more and more products and more and more ways to enjoy their marijuana.  Washington and coffee, Seattle and coffee go hand in a hand, and the Fairwinds people came up with this idea that makes a lot of sense.”

Other products in Fairwinds’ line include tinctures made with coconut oil, capsules, and oils specifically made for inhaling. The products are available at numerous Washington marijuana retailers. They are also pushing the  needle forward for the entire cannabis industry as they have become the first DOH (department of health) compliant cannabis company in the state of Washington.
