The IQT Vancouver/Pacific Rim conference is set to showcase Zoran Krunic, Senior Manager of Data Science at Amgen, who has spearheaded innovative applications of Quantum Machine Learning (QML) to revolutionize healthcare outcomes. Since joining Amgen R&D in 2018, Zoran has utilized Machine Learning to enhance clinical trial enrollments and patient care by analyzing extensive Electronic Health Records and clinical datasets. His collaboration with IBM’s Quantum team has been pivotal, employing IBM’s Qiskit platform to bridge quantum computing with machine learning.

Zoran’s research has expanded into quantum kernels, examining their impact on small clinical datasets’ variability and reproducibility. His initiatives at Amgen encompass a broad spectrum of QML and Quantum Computing applications to advance their integration within pharmacology. Before Amgen, Zoran developed algorithms at Optum to anticipate failures in enterprise systems, underscoring his deep expertise in data engineering and system development.

At the conference, Zoran will discuss his latest projects at Amgen in generative AI technologies, focusing on the ethical application of OpenAI’s GPT and Anthropic’s Claude models in healthcare. His work now includes efforts in auto-labeling and enhancing document analysis and process management through advanced AI technologies.
