Season 24

Alright, here we go! Just like last season’s recap, I kept track of the Top 10 after every single bet results were inputted, so now we can see just how fierce the competition truly was. I hope you all enjoy going on this journey as much as I did while making it.

At the conclusion of GSL Code A Match 1, our #1 was Elentos.

This match was our first real upset in liquibets. The 249 vs. 67 votes is proof that the majority felt that RagnaroK was going to defeat Hurricane and advance into Code S. However, fate decided that this was not to be, and Hurricane came out on top and allowed WombaT to take the #1 spot away from Elentos.

WombaT was doing a great job of keeping that #1 spot, but unfortunately, his time came to an end. Good Game Gaming triumphed over Invictus Gaming and allowed Serendipityx to overthrow WombaT.

What the heck happened here? TY and DRG both had the most votes in this liquibet, and Bunny and Hurricane had the least amount of votes. And yet… Bunny and Hurricane were the ones who advanced out of this group?! In addition to this surprising upset, Serendipityx also lost their #1 spot and a new #1 was born. ViruzZ betted correctly!

So here’s the thing… ViruzZ is still technically #1. However, in the event of a tie, the liquibets point system is designed to award the user with the highest post count the higher spot. So even though KaiZi Gaming taking down Team GP resulted in EndlessViolence becoming our new #1 spot holder, ViruzZ is still #1 too since they both have 22 points.

I guess ViruzZ wasn’t satisfied with technically being #1. He instantly took over the #1 spot again in the very next liquibet with the help of Rogue and INnoVation.

Huh… A three-way tie… ViruzZ needs to make up their mind. Do they want that first place spot or not…? In any case, let’s thank Invictus Gaming for losing to Shopify Rebellion like that…

LOL! What?! A nine-way tie?! I really don’t think we’ve seen a nine-way tie happen before… I guess just the right amount of people believed in Team Liquid to overcome Good Game Gaming, including our new #1, ZigguratOfUr.

This one was a tough one… KaiZi Gaming and Team NV are the best teams in this team league, and they finally faced off against each other. The vote split wasn’t exactly 50/50, but it was split enough to make a difference in our Top 10. And it also allowed EndlessViolence to take back that #1 spot!

After a ridiculously long streak, EndlessViolence finally conceded the #1 spot to both TheOneAboveU and Spanky. Unfortunately, their loss came at the hands of Maru losing to Rogue in a very one-sided fashion…

Whoa! Things are getting serious now… With sOs triumphing over TY, we are looking at a three-way tie between TheOneAboveU, IArako, and Spanky!

Super Tournament truly is the tournament of upsets! With underdog Bunny taking down ByuN, IArako took the #1 spot and broke the three-way tie!

2021 AfreecaTV GSL Super Tournament 2 Ro8 Match 2
+ Show Spoiler +

IArako was doing really well… Right up until this point. It’s a shame for them, but a celebratory moment for mderg! With sOs triumphing over Dream, mderg takes over as the new #1!

2021 GSL Season 2 Code S Ro8 Match 2
+ Show Spoiler +

What an insane run! mderg kept that #1 spot for so long that I was almost convinced that they were going to ride the momentum train all the way to to the top! Unfortunately, the world is a much crueler place than we realize. After sOs got absolutely destroyed by Trap, there was nothing stopping EndlessViolence from overthrowing mderg and returning once again to the top of the throne!

The saying never gets old… “Liquibets are FUCKING brutal and unforgiving.” EndlessViolence was on track to win the whole thing. However, one final vote made all the difference in the world. Dark taking down Trap to take his second GSL championship allowed IArako to overthrow EndlessViolence at the last second!

What an unbelievable journey it’s been! So many twists and turns…! And now, it’s time for us to check out our final Top 10~!
